Before the emphasis on rankings, test scores and research, college was simply about developing solid foundations, bringing together good people, and providing a quality education. Today at Miami University, these values are refreshingly unchanged. For undergraduates, Miami (which has been called a “Public Ivy”) truly exemplifies the ideal college experience — academically, socially, and in every other way imaginable.

We put these values to work in undergraduate admissions materials by creating a viewbook that coached the reader through the process of choosing a college.

Miami is a place where all aspects of college life are lived to the fullest. To capture this spirit my team embarked on a day-to-night photo shoot starting with a morning run and ending with a 90s Night (yes, 90s?!) at the college karaoke bar. The results — for the first time ever 160over90 captured the complete college experience with the authenticity they are know for. And yes, the client let us put it in the viewbook.

Like most universities, Miami struggles with establishing giving relations with young alumni. In the spirit of continuous education we created a final assignment to be handed out to graduating seniors — a guide to being a good alum.

Three booklets cover the basics of giving, engaging with local alumni chapters, and returning to campus. A forth booklet serves as a visual time capsule of the years the graduate spent on campus.
