role: art director
My team worked with the City of Pittsburgh in response to the U.S. Department of Transportation's Smart Cities Challenge with a 75-page application outlining the vision for SmartPGH and telling the story of Pittsburgh's history of innovation.
We created the SmartPGH brand to reflect Pittsburgh's hard-working ethos, spirit of innovation, and commitment to moving forward.
As part of the U.S. DOT application, the City was asked to submit a three minute pitch video. We combined evocative archival imagery with present-day shots of the city to tell Pittsburgh's story.
The SmartPGH message and story resonated with viewers.
To inform Pittsburgh residents of the SmartPGH initiatives we designed and built a responsive website where complicated infrastructure plans translated into accessible human goals.
